Henry
Who's Henry?
Henry James Shepherd-Fortner, was born in Illinois, USA on January 2, 2016. His mum was abandoned with Henry and his 11 siblings, and he came into Victoria's life at 8 weeks of age. In 2019 he acted as co-pilot on a cross-country road trip to move to San Francisco. In 2020, he hopped on a jet and moved to the gorgeous English countryside, to be closer to his grandparents.
What breed is Henry?
For those who are curious, Henry is a Bitsa. Bitsa this and bitsa that. He is predominantly labrador/hound, but according to a very unreliable DNA test, he has a whole lot of who-knows-what in his system.
Victoria
Who's Victoria?
Originally from Salt, Staffordshire, Victoria returned to the UK in September 2020 after living in the US for nearly 30 years. She has had many careers over the years, including executive assistant, investor relations consultant, voice and on-camera talent for the official US Tourism website, as well as script-writer, video editor and video/podcast producer.
It turns out that Happy Henry's! is what she was meant to be doing all along!
Happy Henry's!
started out as a passion project to get through COVID but has grown into way more than Victoria could have hoped for.
Victoria is a Certified Holistic Grooming Behaviour Specialist through the Holistic Grooming Academy, a Taking the Grrr Out of Grooming Dogs Approved Professional, a games-based trainer with Level 4 certification in Canine Behaviour, Training and Welfare, and is currently a Canine Behaviour Level 6 student. She hopes to never stop learning and finding ways to help more dogs who struggle with navigating the world, both inside and outside of the grooming salon.
Stanley
Who's Stanley?
This little guy quite literally fell into Victoria's lap at the end of 2021. Stanley William is a toy poodle who's taken over the management and running of the business. Let's just say he's the "voice" of the business.
Alexander & Harper
Our newest addition to the HH family is Alexander ("Xander") who came to us as a feral kitten and quickly settled in, making friends with visitors, humans and dogs alike.
NOTE: allergy sufferers, please be aware he does live on-site and around the farm and although they are not allowed in the space when dogs are present (they may try and join the fun), they may be seen around the farm and will have recently walked through the salon.
