TERMS AND CONDITIONS (as per the website submission form) Please review our policies below.
We will ask you to sign a hard copy when you come for your first appointment.
SELF-SERVICE WASH - Customers acknowledge they use the services and facilities of Happy Henry's! at their own risk.
Effy's £8 First Bath Special - please note that the offer is connected to the owners and NOT each dog. For example, if you bring one of your family pets and take advantage of the introductory first bath offer, each self-service bath thereafter for other dogs living in the same household will be charged at the regular rate. Thank you for understanding.
Veterinarian Liabilities and Care I agree to allow Happy Henry’s! to obtain medical treatment for my dog, if it appears that, he/she is ill, injured or exhibits any other behaviour that would reasonably suggest that my dog may need medical treatment. This would be a Veterinarian Practice suitable at the time of need. Happy Henry's! will reach out to my own vet first, if they are local. I AGREE THAT I AM FULLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST OF ANY SUCH MEDICAL TREATMENT AND FOR THE COST OF ANY TRANSPORTATION FOR THE PURPOSES OF SUCH TREATMENT, PROVIDED TO MY DOG.
Health / Medical Problems & Senior Pets Some medical conditions can make grooming stressful on pets. Please inform the groomer if your pet has been diagnosed with a heart problem, arthritis, back or neck problems or any other serious medical condition. Every attempt will be made to minimise the stress which could exacerbate a pre-existing problem. This may mean altering some standard procedures such as not using a heated dryer or expecting the pet to stand still for extended periods. Unfortunately, this could change the final grooming appearance. If the pet becomes excessively stressed or show signs of medical compromise the groomer will stop, and you will be contacted about the best way to proceed.
Aggressive Pets & Triggers Owners MUST inform us if their dog bites, has bitten, or is aggressive to people, other pets or specific grooming procedures. In some cases use of a muzzle maybe used, this will not harm your pet, and protects both the pet and the groomer. If the owner is aware of ANY triggers that may cause perceived aggression, Happy Henry’s! must be advised. We reserve the right to refuse/stop services for such pets at any time before or during the grooming process. Should pets cause damage to property whilst in care of Happy Henry's!, owner will be responsible for all costs associated with the damage.
Matted Pets Pets with matted coats need extra attention during the grooming session. Matts left in a pet's coat only grow tighter, and can strangle the pet’s skin, even eventually tear it open. We do not want to cause undue stress to your pet, and will not continually de-mat your pet for you. Mats are difficult to remove and may require your pet to be shaved. If we find matting that is causing discomfort or pain to your dog and spend time gently removing them, you will be charged a de-matting fee (as of Feb 2023 this is £10). It is not uncommon for underlying skin problems to present once mats are shaved off including parasites (evidence of fleas/ticks, infections (yeast/bacteria) or wounds). The groomer will contact you with any such findings.
If evidence of fleas or ticks are found on your pet during the grooming process, your pet will be treated with a natural Flea and Tick Shampoo and you will be advised upon collection. An extra charge may be incurred. If ticks are found we strongly suggest you take your dog to be checked by your Vet. Please note that parasites are a health hazard to your pets as well as to humans.
Double coated Breeds Shaving a double coated breed can result in slow regrowth or occasionally failure of the coat to regrow at all. This has nothing to do with the method of grooming but rather the growth pattern of these types of coats. In some cases, the coat regrows but the colour and texture may be different. This is an inherent risk of shaving these types of dogs and should be seriously considered prior to proceeding with the shaving. Shaving down heavy coated dogs does not offer relief from heat, it actually makes them less able to regulate their body temperature. If shedding is the concern other methods could be used.
Cost of Services Owner understands that the cost of services may vary from time to time, taking into account level of services required, condition, and temperament of the dog being groomed. Owner also understands that all completed services must be paid for before the dog is released back to the owner upon completion of groom.
Pet Collection by Third Party Unless Happy Henry's! has written authorisation from owner, no dog will be released to a third party. If an emergency arises and the owner cannot be reached, we will attempt to reach the designated Emergency Contact. All third parties collecting a dog will be asked to present photographic ID for verification purposes.
Accidents There is always the possibility an accident could occur. Grooming equipment is sharp. Even though we use extreme caution and care in all situations, possible problems could occur including cuts, nicks, scratches, quickening of the nails etc. In most cases this can happen when a pet is wriggling or moving around. Every effort will be made to ensure your pet is groomed as safely as possible: however, some pets may have reactions to grooming products or procedures such as shaving.
No-Shows & Cancellations No shows and last-minute cancellations are subject to a £30 fee per pet. In order to avoid the cancellation fee, we require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice. We understand there may be emergency situations and we will work with you, but not on a continued basis. Please be respectful of our time as we are an appointment business, and another client could have taken your appointment if we had known.
Prompt pick-up Please note that as we do not crate dogs that come to Happy Henry’s! for grooming services and do not cross-over appointments, we ask that all dogs are collected promptly at the time given at drop-off. If an owner is unable to collect on time, they must advise us immediately. If owners are more than 30 minutes late picking up their dog, we will charge an additional £10 for every 30- minutes after the first 30 minutes.
Dog Photos and Video Release Owner agrees to allow any Happy Henry’s! location, its owners, employees, officers, directors and agents to use their dog’s name and any images or likeness of their taken while he/she is at the grooming salon, in any form or format, for use, at any time, in any media, marketing, advertising, illustration, trade or promotional materials. Owner to initial here if they DO allow use of image for anything other than ID purposes (………..)
Personal Property Owner agrees that Happy Henry’s! shall not be responsible or liable for any lost, stolen or damaged personal property belonging to either them or their dog. Owner also understands and agrees that their dog’s collar may be removed in the grooming area to prevent any injury to any dog.
